Beginning with what is considered to be one of the oldest known Christmas carols from 336 AD, our festive concert interweaves readings from the great mediaeval spiritual thinkers and poets, with choral gems from Palestrina, Josquin des Pres, Gabrieli and Praetorius . Modern reimaginings follow, including the ever-popular Chilcott On Christmas Night, a selection of Will Todd Jazz Carols and, of course, carols for all the family. From simple Gregorian chant and devotional polyphony to joyous festive songs, this is a truly unique and uplifting celebration of the great mystery of Christmas.
