On 20th and 21st July 2024, Cantorum sang the services at Winchester Cathedral. On the Saturday, we sang Choral Evensong, with Byrd’s Second Service and Lobo’s Versa est in luctum, making the most of the acoustic in the Quire. On Sunday we sang for Choral Eucharist, with movements from Vierne’s Messe Solennelle and Choral Evensong, where we sang Howells’ setting ‘Collegium Regale’ and Harris’ Faire is the heaven – a favourite among the choir. The choir were made very welcome and thanked for their ‘beautiful singing’.
